Dolphins' Ross proposed 'march on Washington' by owners, players during secret meeting, report says

Miami Dolphins owner Steve Ross proposed a “march on Washington” by NFL players and owners at a secret meeting in October to discuss national anthem protests by players, according to the New York Times.

Ross’ proposal was detailed by the New York Times on Wednesday in Bill Laimbeer Authentic Jersey an article based on a tape of the clandestine three-hour meeting of 30 owners, league executives and players at the NFL headquarters Willie Stargell Jersey Womens in New York. The meeting was held shortly after President Donald Trump's remarks about players who were kneeling during the anthem being unpatriotic.

Ross wasn’t referenced again http://www.lionsofficialstore.com/golden-tate-iii-jersey-c-2_11.html in the story so the intent of the march and how the idea was received is unclear.

The Times reported that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell began the meeting http://www.officialvikingsonline.com/jerick-mckinnon-jersey-c-1_49.html by saying, “Let’s make sure that we keep this confidential.”

The Dolphins declined to comment on the Times’ story.

Ross, who was reportedly deposed Tuesday regarding Colin Kaepernick’s grievance that NFL teams are colluding against him and not signing the quarterback because of him kneeling during the anthem, raised eyebrows in March because of a quote published by the New York Daily News. It seemed to conflict with his stance that he supported the players’ right to kneel during the national anthem in protest of social injustices to minorities.

“I think initially I totally supported the players in what they were doing, because it’s America — people should be able to really speak about their choices and show them [in] doing that,” Ross Authentic Dave Casper Jersey was quoted as saying.

“But I think when you change the message, about, is it support of our country or the military, it’s a different message. When that message changed, and everybody was interpreting it as that was the reason, then I was against the kneeling.”

Ross refuted that report the next day and said he had 'no intention' of forcing Dolphins players to stand during anthem.

Ross has supported Dolphins players who kneeled in the past, such as wide receiver Kenny Stills and safety Michael Thomas (now with the New York Giants), and he’s been active in organizing community outreach to resolve issues between minorities and police. He has also used his RISE (Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality) to improve race relations and promote social change.

And Ross, in conjunction with the Dolphins, recently awarded nine social justice grants for 2018, including grants to groups http://www.seahawksprossales.com/68-justin-britt-jersey-c-1_35.html that include the Trayvon Martin Foundation, Miami Gardens Police Department and two LGBTQ organizations.
