Adidas Superstar has had many makeovers

The adidas superstar has had many makeovers in its long life, but never anything quite like this. Exclusively for women, the shell-toed classic gets a thoroughly contemporary remodel in slip-on form constructed in a full mesh body with large ribbons running down the top of each foot creating a tongue loop at the top. Each ribbon is also tonally stitched with large “The Brand With the Three Stripes” text. Debuting in pink, black, and white with vintage off-white soles and shell toes, the Superstar Slip-On is arriving at select adidas Originals retailers now. If a Slip-On Stan Smith is more your vibe, consider the women’s Stan Smith Sock Primeknit.

The adidas superstar 80s gets stripped down for a dressed up look with these new Decon editions of the iconic shell-toed sneaker. The usual rubber shell toe is one of the biggest omissions from the Superstar 80s Decon, which features a premium build in a one-piece leather wraparound on the upper with a second leather panel for the toe, with all the usual lines of the shoe lasered in. The refined Superstar is arriving now at select adidas Originals retailers in black and white colorways.Taking the “Decon” look that has recently been spotted on the Air Jordan 2, this iteration of the adidas Superstar 80s comes constructed out of a one-piece leather on the upper for a clean aesthetic.

This month, adidas superstar bold will release four exclusive styles to celebrate Pride and to continue their support for the Rainbow Laces charity.Celebrating the spirit of creators, doers and people who over-come adversity, re-imagined and wrote their own stories – Adidas Originals has updated the classic EQT, Superstar; while both Adidas Running and Adidas Basketball have updated the Ultra BOOST and Crazy Explosive Low silhouette with a brand new tertiary palette. Taking inspiration from the evolving LGBT community – Adidas looks to grow beyond the rainbow and its primary and secondary colourways with a tertiary palette that is representative of the inclusivity of the many identities that make us bold and vibrant.

Inspired by the tailor's storied suiting, there will be two limited-edition remixes of the Eighties revivial adidas NMD silhouette in the collaboration – both made from custom crafted fabrics. Launching first on 21 July, the NMD XR1 evening shoe takes its cues from the aforementioned dinner suit in midnight blue, black and white with grosgrain silk detailing on the medial cage. The second style, the NMD R2 (a day shoe), will launch on 4 August and pays homage to the house's famous flannel day suits. The upper is cut from chalk-stripe fabric with claret accents, a trademark Cundey Weave red lining (a feature usually found in its ties and suit linings) and the exclusive fabric's selvedge on the heel loop at the back.
