The COVID-19 crisis has shaken the sports industry worldwide, and it would not be surprising if it also affects sports simulation video games. With NBA Season 2020-21 possibly getting delayed, fans should not rule out the chance that the “NBA 2K21” release date would be moved later this year as well.

Last year the NBA 2K franchise took a large step forward when it comes to inclusion by featuring the WNBA in the game as a playable mode. Players could take control of their favorite WNBA teams and display the talent and ability of some of the world's best female basketball players. It was a huge hit with people and it's likely that this returns in NBA 2K21. It's unclear if they'll spruce up the WNBA gameplay with new features, or even its own franchise mode, but the possibilities are endless.

Hopefully, it will be someone who won't switch teams before the game comes out. In two of the last three years, the NBA 2K series cover has featured a star player traded during the offseason: Kyrie Irving on NBA 2K18, and Anthony Davis this past year (though in Davis' case, everyone pretty much knew it was coming). The league is blessed with a number of young rising stars who aren't going anywhere, and the likes of Luka Doncic and Zion Williamson would be excellent choices. In addition, our site 5mmo.com has a large quantity of safe NBA 2K21 MT For Sale.

That said, there's already a strong feeling among the NBA 2K community that the NBA 2K21 cover should be used to honor the late Kobe Bryant. That would require a deal with his estate, but if 2K can figure out how to honor Kobe without looking like it is profiting from his tragic passing, having the Mamba on the cover would be a popular move. Its also possible that the standard version of the game will feature a current NBA player, and Bryant could be featured on the Legend Edition, as Dwyane Wade was for NBA 2K20.

It would definitely be a fitting farewell from the gaming community to a player as legendary as Kobe Bryant, but it will remain to be seen what 2K has in mind for NBA 2K21. The game is technically unannounced as of this writing, but given the franchise’s consistent schedule, plus the financial success of NBA 2K20, it’s really only a matter of time before that changes.
