The Titans “seriously contemplated” making a move for Antonio Brown Jurrell Casey Jersey , Paul Kuharsky of paulkuharsky.com reports, but Tennessee now is out of the running for the Steelers receiver.Washington and the Saints also are out of trade talks with the Steelers for the disgruntled player, Dianna Russini of ESPN reports.Previous reports ruled out the Cardinals, Jets and Broncos. The Raiders, though, apparently remain interested, and, with three first-round draft picks, could make a deal work. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported earlier this week the Steelers hoped to have a deal completed by Friday. Brown, 30, has seven Pro Bowl honors and four times has earned All-Pro.Meanwhile, the Titans’ search for a top-flight receiver continues. They were involved in trade talks for Amari Cooper at the trade deadline last season. They used the fifth overall choice on Corey Davis in 2017. He has 99 receptions for 1,266 yards and four touchdowns in 27 career games. Jon Robinson has filled several needs to this point — interior offensive line help Jack Conklin Jersey , pass rush, receiver help and even upgraded the backup quarterback position. Still, you could argue (and most of you have) that the Titans could use more help at receiver. Adam Humphries was a great start and will help move the chains from the slot, but you’re still left with Taywan Taylor or Tajae Sharpe playing opposite of Corey Davis on the outside. With Tennessee appearing to be done spending big, Robinson could still look to go with a cheaper veteran. In steps Jordy Nelson, who played in Oakland last year. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported yesterday that the Seahawks were scheduled to meet with Nelson. He also mentioned the Titans, Patriots, Chiefs and Raiders as other teams that were interested. Nelson caught 63 passes for 739 yards and three touchdowns last season. It was a clear step back from what he once was in Green Bay, but still a productive season all things considered. Nelson will be 34 this season. As I mentioned above, the Titans still have work to do at receiver. Whether it’s in free agency or in the draft, this depth chart needs one more dependable pass catcher for Marcus Mariota. If we’re trying to figure out what Mariota truly is, adding a veteran on a short term deal like Nelson to take some responsibility away from Taywan Taylor makes a lot of sense — if the price is right.
